Propeller Mobile, the mobile division of communications business Propeller Group, has today launched LoveRadioAds – an app created for the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) which promotes and celebrates the creativity of radio advertising, whilst helping advertisers, media agencies and creative agencies get more from the medium.
The launch of the app is in response to the creative industry’s desire for instant, sector intelligence backed by examples of good, creative content. Users will be able to search for radio ads by typing in keywords or by browsing through the radio ads library using sections such as advertiser category, brand, agency, award and year.
Launching today (23 May 2012) at the RAB’s 20th Anniversary event ‘Making Waves: Celebrating 20 years of radio innovation’, the app is an industry first for a trade marketing body. It streams over 20,000 thousand ads served by industry suppliers Adstream and IMD, which account for 90% of all UK radio ads on air.
The app will offer a top ten ads – curated and updated weekly by the RAB – and will also allow creatives to browse the ads library when looking for inspiration while working on their own creative content, as well as shortlist their own ads or favourite ads to share via social media or play to clients during meetings.
Clare Bowen, Head of Creative Development at the RAB said: “From speaking to agencies, we’ve heard that good radio advertising is notoriously hard to track down. The LoveRadioAds app will put a vast range of radio ads directly into people’s hands. Since you can access it on your Smartphone, we believe it will be a really useful tool for teams working on radio briefs and also for media agencies and clients wanting to showcase their work and hear what other radio advertising is out there.”
Commenting on the launch, Martin Loat, chief executive Propeller Mobile, said: “Those who love radio ads often struggle to showcase their favourites – or their own best work – as the medium is not as easy to ‘show’ as others. The LoveRadioAds app for the RAB gets around this by providing a portable audio showcase of the best radio advertising over the years. Agencies and creatives can put a reel together quickly and easily and know it’s available wherever they go.”
